24-Hr. Asbestos Inspector Initial - Mechanicsburg
Description
This course meets AHERA training requirements as well as PA DOLI training requirements for Building Inspectors. The course provides an overview of asbestos-containing materials in buildings, the methods to find, categorize and assess their condition and potential for disturbance. The topics covered in detail are the discussion of state and federal regulations, health effects, personal protective equipment, the inspection process, sampling and categorizing the material, recordkeeping, legal liability, and insurance. Additionally, annual training requirements are completed for the OSHA Respiratory Protection Standards (including fit testing).
Note: Respirator Fit Testing may be provided during this session for individuals who are medically cleared and clean-shaven in the area of the facepiece seal. You must bring your own respirator. Smoking, eating, and drinking is prohibited 30 minutes prior to the actual fit tests. If you would like to be fit tested in this class, please let the instructor know.
